Serving the Piedmont Since 1984
For over 40 years, Davidson Heating & Air has been the name families and businesses across the I-85 corridor trust for honest, dependable HVAC service. We are family-owned, Lexington-based, and deeply rooted in the communities we serve.
Our Philosophy on Service
At Davidson Heating & Air, we believe trust isn't something a company claims. It's something a company earns.
It is earned by making decisions that put the customer's interests first, long before a technician ever arrives at your home.
One of those decisions is how people are compensated.
We believe that the way people are paid influences the way they behave. That is why, with the exception of optional indoor air quality products, our service technicians do not earn any commission based on the repairs they recommend.
We want every technician walking into your home focused on one question:
"What is causing this system to fail?"
Not,
"What can I sell today?"
That same philosophy influences how we price our service calls.
Some companies compete by advertising the lowest diagnostic fee they can. We don't.
A proper diagnosis requires time, experience, training, specialized tools, and critical thinking. We'd rather charge fairly for accurately identifying the problem than rely on selling additional repairs after we arrive.
Sometimes the right repair is a major component replacement. Sometimes it's a capacitor, a contactor, or a clogged drain line. Sometimes the best recommendation we can make is that your system has reached the point where replacing it is a better investment than continuing to repair it.
Regardless of the outcome, our responsibility is the same: accurately diagnose the problem, clearly explain your options, and recommend the solution we genuinely believe is in your best interest.
Our goal isn't to win every service call. Our goal is to earn your trust by providing honest recommendations, exceptional workmanship, and the confidence that our advice is driven by what is best for your home, not by how our technicians are compensated.
That philosophy won't always lead us to the biggest repair, but we believe it leads to something far more valuable: customers who trust us enough to call us again, recommend us to their friends and family, and know that when we make a recommendation, it is because we believe it is the right one.
Meet Our Team
The people who make it all work. Every call answered, every system repaired, every customer taken care of, it starts with this crew.

David Kinne
Owner
David is the owner of Davidson Heating & Air. He focuses on building the kind of company where great people can do great work and have fulfilling careers. He believes if you take care of your team, they will take care of your customers and your community. Outside of work, he spends most of his time around sports and with his family. He takes pride in building something that lasts, not just something that works for today.

Vonnie Nelson
Chief Operating Officer
Vonnie brings 30 years of experience and a deep understanding of every part of the business. Around here, he has a reputation for being able to diagnose just about any problem, mechanical, operational, or otherwise, by instinct alone, which may or may not be an exaggeration but we are not interested in testing it. As COO, he is responsible for the full operation including sales, service, and installation. When something is not working, whether it is a piece of equipment or a process, Vonnie is the person who figures it out. He cares deeply about the team and the community and holds a high standard for both how the work gets done and how people are treated.

Austin Malone
Service Manager
Austin originally came in trying to get out of the rain. We handed him some work, and he never really left. That turned out to be a pretty good outcome for us. Today, he leads our service team and oversees all service and repair training. He is the person technicians go to when something is not straightforward. We will keep it simple. He is very, very good at what he does.

Terri Hunt
Operations & Customer Experience
With over 10 years in the HVAC industry, Terri runs the part of the business that would fall apart without her. She handles dispatch, keeps the schedule from going sideways, and leads customer service. She is also a great mom, has a strong and somewhat mysterious appreciation for ferrets, and has fully committed to making pink work in an industry dominated by toolbelts. If everything felt smooth, organized, and on time, that was not an accident.

Lillian Almanzar
Customer Experience Team
Lillian is responsible for making sure our customers stay satisfied long after the first visit. She owns the follow-through on our preventative maintenance program and works to make sure every member is actually getting the value they signed up for, from on-time tune-ups to priority service when it matters. Outside of work, she is focused on opening her own pilates studio one day. She also wants you to know she did not do her hair on picture day, so we used a photo of a horse instead.
Built to Last
We have been in business for over four decades because we do things the right way, not the fast way. We hire good people, train them well, and hold ourselves to a standard our customers can count on. No shortcuts, no surprises.
From Lexington to Charlotte, Greensboro to Salisbury, our team shows up every day ready to earn the trust this community has given us since 1984.
