HVAC Services in Kannapolis, NC
From the revitalized downtown to established neighborhoods, Kannapolis families trust Davidson Heating & Air for comfort they can count on.
Kannapolis has transformed from a mill town into one of the Piedmont's most dynamic communities. After 40+ years serving the NC Piedmont from our Lexington headquarters, we opened a second physical location on Kannapolis Parkway. Trucks, inventory, and technicians are now stationed in Cabarrus County, which means faster response times for Kannapolis homeowners and businesses. Whether you're in a revitalized downtown loft, a classic Cannon Mills neighborhood, or a new build near the Research Campus, Davidson Heating & Air provides the HVAC expertise this growing city needs.
Kannapolis: A City in Transformation
Kannapolis is experiencing a renaissance. The redevelopment around the North Carolina Research Campus, the new Atrium Health Ballpark, and the revitalized downtown have attracted new residents and investment. This growth brings new homes and renovated properties, all of which need reliable HVAC systems.
The original Cannon Mills neighborhoods feature solid brick homes from the 1920s–1950s that are being renovated and updated by new owners. These homes often need complete HVAC system replacements, and the transition from old, oversized equipment to modern high-efficiency systems requires careful sizing and duct evaluation. Our technicians are experienced with these transitions.
Why We Opened a Kannapolis Location
Kannapolis is no longer the mill town it was when we founded Davidson Heating & Air in 1984. The North Carolina Research Campus, Atrium Health Ballpark, and the revitalized downtown have brought thousands of new residents, renovated Cannon Mills homes, and new construction across the Royal Oaks, Afton Village, Lake Fisher, and Jackson Park neighborhoods.
For years our customers in Kannapolis, Concord, and Salisbury had to wait 45–75 minutes for a technician to drive down from Lexington. That worked when the volume was modest; it does not work when an AC fails on a 95°F July afternoon. The Kannapolis location on Kannapolis Parkway, just off I-85 near Concord Mills, lets us station service trucks, inventory, and crews where the calls are.
Same family-owned company. Same factory-trained technicians. Same honest pricing. Closer to home for Cabarrus, southern Rowan, and north Mecklenburg County customers.
Response Times from Our Kannapolis Shop
Most Kannapolis and Concord calls see a technician within 15–30 minutes during business hours. Salisbury and north Charlotte typically run 25–45 minutes.
During peak summer or winter, dispatch may queue calls. Members of our $240/year service agreement get priority placement.
Kannapolis: 15–25 minutes. Concord: 15–30 minutes. Salisbury: 25–40 minutes. North Charlotte (University City, Highland Creek, Mallard Creek, Harrisburg): 25–45 minutes.
Local Expert Insight
If you've purchased a renovated home in Kannapolis and the HVAC system feels like it short-cycles, running for 5-10 minutes then shutting off, it's likely oversized. Many renovation contractors reuse old systems or install based on square footage alone, without accounting for the improved insulation and windows in the renovation. A Manual J load calculation will tell you exactly what you need.
