What the Gift of Warmth Is
A failing furnace or heat pump in December is more than an inconvenience. For a family already stretched thin, a replacement can feel out of reach, and space heaters and the oven door become the plan for the winter.
As part of the Kannapolis Celebration of Lights, Davidson Heating & Air is partnering with the City of Kannapolis to give one family a new heating and air system with standard installation by our team, up to a $10,000 value. Merry Christmas, from our family to yours.
How It Works
- Nominate a family: your own, or a neighbor. Enter by December 22, 2026.
- We draw one name: a random drawing with the City of Kannapolis on December 23, 2026.
- A warmer home: a new system, installed by our team.
Who Can Be Nominated
The nominated home must be the family's primary residence within our service area, either owner-occupied or with the owner's written approval. Entrants must be 18 or older, and each family can be entered once. The prize is subject to an in-home assessment so we install the right system for the house. Full rules are listed under the entry form below.
If you are not sure whether a home qualifies, call our Kannapolis office at 980-780-3377 and we will help.
Why We Are Doing This
Davidson Heating & Air has kept North Carolina homes warm since 1984. As we grow in Kannapolis, we want to earn our place here the same way we have everywhere else: by showing up and helping where it matters. This year we are also sponsoring the Leonard Bearstein Symphony Orchestra in the Village Park Multi-Purpose Room. Read more about our Celebration of Lights sponsorship.
Signs a Family's Heating System Needs Help
Not sure whether a family you know would benefit? These are the situations our technicians see most often in Cabarrus and Rowan County homes during the winter:
- The furnace or heat pump is 15 to 20 years old or older and needs frequent repairs
- Rooms stay cold even with the thermostat turned up, or the system runs nonstop
- The family is relying on space heaters, the oven or the fireplace to stay warm
- Power bills climb every winter even though nothing else has changed
- The system has been shut off or flagged as unsafe after a cracked heat exchanger or venting problem
What Happens After the Drawing
Once the winning family is drawn on December 23, we will reach out by phone or email to schedule an in-home assessment. One of our technicians will look at the home, the existing equipment and the ductwork so we can size and install the right system for the house. Standard installation is handled by our own team, the same people who serve homes and businesses across the area every day.
Every family that is nominated matters to us. If your family is not selected and your system needs attention this winter, call our Kannapolis office and we will help you understand your options.
